The Z-Wave Protocol
Z-Wave is the most widespread and secure wireless home automation protocol in the world. It operates in Israel on the 916 MHz frequency, and 868 MHz in Europe. There is therefore no interference with other networks such as those connected to the WiFi network.
Operating on a different network from WiFi, it requires a router, certainly connected to the internet router in order to allow the customer to manage his smart home from outside his house, but with the advantage of continuing to operate even if the WiFi does not work more.
Z-Wave uses a mesh network, that is to say that all the connected elements communicate with each other like a vast spider's web, thus avoiding a loss of signal from the smart home router (as in the case of WiFi).
In the case of Z-Wave, there is no bandwidth problem that would reduce the quality of the transmitted signal. Thus, each action order signal emitted by the box will not have to seek and directly reach the target element and will not collide with the walls of the house and their locations.
Z-Wave also makes it possible to associate together several elements connected to each other independently of the home automation box.
It is also possible to associate other Z-Wave elements to the system from other brands of Z-Wave products.

The Zigbee Protocol
Zigbee is the competing wireless smart home protocol to the Z-Wave protocol. It works worldwide on the 2.4 GHz frequency like WiFi.
Zigbee uses a mesh network so all the connected elements communicate with each other, like a vast spider's web, thus making it possible to avoid a loss of signal coming from the smart home router (as in the case of WiFi).
In the case of Zigbee, there is no bandwidth problem that would reduce the quality of the transmitted signal. Thus, each action order signal emitted by the smart home router will not have to seek and directly reach the target element and will not come up against the walls of the house and their locations.
Zigbee also makes it possible to associate together several connected elements.
Some advantages of Zigbee compared to Z-Wave: it is cheaper, it offers more models of switches adapted to the different sizes of back-end boxes (several lights and/or electric shutters for the same switch in different sizes).
Its downside? It is not impossible that there is interference, although very very rare, with elements connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi network participating in a possible and very occasional loss of Zigbee signal.
The RF 433MHz Protocol
The 433 MHz RF protocol is not based on a mesh network made up of all the connected elements, as for Z-Wave or Zigbee, but rather on independent meshes.
This low frequency gives the advantage of allowing the smart home signal to pass through concrete walls.
There will be less compatibility of products external to the brand than for the Z-Wave and Zigbee systems but the 433 MHz offers more advantages in terms of various compositions of switch buttons, i.e. it is possible to combine lights, dimmers, electric shutters, scenarios for the same switch in a box of 3 or 4.
